Goa government is working on restoring the name of the coastal state by making it again an ideal place to spend holidays. Now the election code is indirectly aiding to the movement. In the view of the same and also affected by the upcoming elections, bars and all other liquor outlets are to close early than usual.
The decision has been taken with the view of the election code of conduct coming into action. As per the election code of conduct, bars and other stores who serve liquor will have to shut down earlier than they did before. The stores have been asked to close their shutters by 11PM. The code will continue till the results are declared in the state.
However, no official notification regarding the early closing requirement has been issued by the district magistrate. The traders got to know about the new rule when they were visited by the Goa Police officials. The officials went to the establishments and notified them about closure till 11PM.
