Russian Christmas in Goa

Russian Christmas in Goa

Goa lights up for New Year, only for the Russians this time! Seven days into the New Year, on 7th January 2018 Goans wake up to feel the festive vibes once again. This time it’s about the traditional Russian Christmas, celebrated thirteen days after December 25th when it is observed usually by the rest of the world. Goa is one of the top beach tourism destinations in the country and draws over four million tourists half of whom are foreigners. Over the last few years the number of Russian tourists in Goa have increased which has resulted in a lot of industry, travel and tourism tweaking their hospitality to suit the Russian needs. In Russia for Christmas major celebrations take place all over the country in recognition of the holiday. The Russians bring in their Christmas with firework displays, carol singing, concerts, live music, exclusive parties, and lots of good food. Traditionally, the celebration of Russian Christmas follows the same practices as the rest of the world, like with attending midnight mass with the family, followed by a feast at home, which includes traditionally cooked meat and sweets, putting up a Christmas tree, decorations, visiting family and friends, etc.

To bring in Russian Christmas the leading nightclubs and party spots will hold bashes with groovy music, food, drinks and the works.

Tito’s the most popular hotspot in Baga holds an extravagant Russian Christmas party every year with music, food and décor all set to Russian tastes which is visited by lots of Russians and tourists alike. One can find a wide array of live grills, good food, wine, desserts, dancers, performances, and top local Djs. This year as well there will be a huge bash for Russian Christmas, so for all you Russians celebrating Christmas in Goa look no further than Tito’s!
